Dr. Helen Shepard
I have been studying and working with human sexuality professionally since 2011. I received a Dr. of Human Sexuality degree from San Francisco's Institute of Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in 2014, and certified as a sexological bodyworker in 2015.
I also have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puget Sound, where I studied animal behavior and the science of gender, among other things. I have always had a special interest in physiology.
As a survivor of sexual abuse, physical assault, and religious abuse, I have real life experience in overcoming shame and trauma to reclaim sexual pleasure. Discovering and pursuing sexual pleasure for myself was a huge element of my personal spiritual growth, and I love to share that journey with other people and support them in their personal growth.
When I'm not working, I enjoy hanging out with my dog and cats, going for hikes and swims, and seeing comedy or performing my own standup comedy.
